What is Microblading?

Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery or 3D brows, is a relatively new manual method for enhancing eyebrows. It is considered permanent makeup, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique done by machine even though it is technically semi-permanent in that the strokes will fade in time if a touch up is not performed due to the pigment being applied only in the Epidermal layers of the skin. It is done using very fine microneedles that form a blade to deposit pigment. Because the color is closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no spilling under the skin.

The difference with this and ordinary permanent makeup is that microblading is not done by a machine. The pigment is manually placed into the skin. The microblading manual blade is equipped with sterile packaged blades. The blade glides with gentle pressure over the skin and causes fine cuts, leaving a trace that can hardly be distinguished from real hair. Depending on the drawing technique – of which we, as Phibrows artists are experts using the Golden Ratio proportions 1.618– it creates a beautiful, individualized look perfect for your unique facial features. Perfect eyebrows are timeless and transcends all eyebrow and beauty trends. Above all, 3D eyebrows absolutely do not appear as a tattoo.
