Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery or 3D brows, is a relatively new manual method for enhancing eyebrows. It is considered permanent makeup, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique done by machine even though it is technically semi-permanent in that the strokes will fade in time if a touch up is not performed due to the pigment being applied only in the Epidermal layers of the skin. It is done using very fine microneedles that form a blade to deposit pigment. Because the color is closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no spilling under the skin.
